Comparative GEOLIFE™ Tests Conducted in Turkey
Monitored by Agronomy Professors, Aegean University, Izmir, Turkey 1995-1996
Results of these tests were published in the "Sandom Report," well-known to European agronomists as the publication of the Turkish Department of Agriculture. (SANDOM 10 Report (1996) pgs. 132-138)
Yield
- Sixty-seven comparative tests were carried out on beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, tulips, watermelons, peppers, grapes, apples, cotton, corn, hazelnuts, and olives. Compared to the control groups, GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms achieved the following yields:
- Higher: 61
- Tied: 4
- Lower: 2
- Tests carried out on cotton with GEOLIFE™ led to a 10% increase in yield.
Additional tests carried out with GEOLIFE™ on tomato, cucumber, peppers, corn, soy, eggplant, and beans were considered to be very positive by the producers. Even though they did not carry out any precise measurements, they all agreed that the yield with GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms is higher than with the traditional chemical fertilization.- Use of GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms allowed hazelnut production to reach its highest level in a century, when production first began in the area.
- Seventeen greenhouse tests were carried out on beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, and tulips. The average yield increase with GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms from these tests was 9%.
Qualitative Results Included the Following:
- In 19 tests to compare the organoleptic qualities of tomatoes, using GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms:
- The Brix % was higher in 17, lower in 1, and equal in 1
- The color was higher in 11, slightly lower in 7, and equal in 1
- Tests on grapes:
All producers were satisfied and state that the grapes grown with GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms were tastier than the grapes they have produced up to now with conventional agronomic procedures. - Tests on apples (variety Starking):
Producers were very satisfied with GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms. They had fewer problems with parasites and the fruits had a very nice taste. - The tests carried out with GEOLIFE™ Gardens & Farms in other areas on tomato, cucumber, pepper, corn, soy, eggplants, and bean crops were considered to be very positive by the producers…. They said that the produce had a better smell and taste and the appearance was more homogeneous, all factors that have allowed them to sell it at a higher price.
- The soil consistency turned from rather hard and compact to being much softer: the growers said that it felt like walking on a sponge surface.
